About Museum Collection

Created in a spectrum of vivid and meditative hues, Museum Collection invites viewers into the interior architecture of Monti Sharp’s imagination — a world first revealed at the Northeast Louisiana Delta African-American Heritage Museum. Each canvas captures a moment of inquiry and revelation, where the boundaries between thought, memory, and spirit dissolve into color and form.

The works range from intimate studies to larger compositions, rendered in oil and acrylic with both restraint and intensity. Shapes emerge, recede, and reappear, suggesting shifting emotional terrains rather than fixed subjects. Sharp’s brushwork — alternately gestural and precise — traces a journey inward, as though the paintings themselves are mapping the process of seeing.

In Museum Collection, the interplay between discipline and release, reason and reverie, becomes its own kind of landscape. These paintings are less about what is observed than what is felt, inviting each viewer to encounter the quiet power of interior life made visible.
